History

The Margie Burke Speech Tournament was created in 1982 to honor the memory of Margie Burke, a dedicated Ross School parent who possessed both a love of learning and a deep sense of service to her community. She passed away while her two young sons were attending Ross School. Originally created as a Ross School event, it soon became a county wide speech tournament. The participation of everyone today epitomizes Margie Burke's spriti and drive for academic excellence.
